Tondu Methodist

With an imposing bell tower this pretty church is set in woodlands with a winding path up from the main road to Maesteg.

Church is open during the week for evening group meetings and services.

Mission to our Community

Tondu is a member of the Aberkenfig and District United Churches, As well as many joint fundraising and profile raising events shared with the other churches, Tondu reaches out to the community in a variety of ways. Brownies and Guides use the hall for meetings, as do the local weightwatchers. The choir formed and trained by organist Peter David hold concerts 2 or 3 times a year. Various 'bring and buy' events bring people to the the church building. Tondu Wesley is a very popular venue for weddings, which gives us another contact with the community at large. Last year (2005) during the Iron works open day the church was a focal point serving refreshments and showing its links with the Brogden Family, owners of the works and patrons of the early church. Our member Dr. J Jones has produced a book on the history of the church which has been selling well
